From The President

Dear Rangers Family,

By now you may have seen our campaign #theruntodiv1. We have commenced the final leg of our plan to become a Division 1 club. We have formally sent through a request to Baseball SA to consider our entry into Division 1 and are hoping to receive a response very soon.

We feel the timing is right. Due to current conditions and travel restrictions, international players will not be allowed to join our competition. This also impacts the Adelaide Giants. With no imports, clubs and the Giants will now only be able to rely on local players. We saw this as an opportunity to enter the team as we will be against similar competition.

In order to field a Division 1 team, we will need to recruit some higher calibre players to compliment the players we have. We have identified the players we will need to ensure we can field a full Division 1, 2 and 3 team without the need for players to “start” in more than one game. This is extremely challenging and we have commenced down the recruitment path. The biggest challenge we face is that to recruit Division 1 potential players, we need to be Division 1, but to get there we need these players. It is a vicious circle and one we are working through at the moment and are hopeful we can achieve this. We do have safety nets in place if we do not secure the players in place. It is an extremely vital transition for our club to grow and improve.

We have other important activities in progress at the moment that will continue to grow our junior competition in particular our TBall competition and secure our future as a respected and reputable baseball club.

I know there will be a lot of questions and concerns about all of this, so I am happy for you to call me and discuss any queries you have.

It is a very exciting time for our club as it will be the foundation stone for a very successful and sustainable club in the near future.

See you on the Diamond soon!

GO RANGERS!

Kind regards,

Darko Filko
President
