From the President

Dear Rangers Family,

Amid all the hysteria about the COVID-19 virus or more commonly known as the Corona Virus, some recent actions have been brought into place by Baseball SA including cancelling the rest of the 2019/2020 season effective immediately. They have emailed all members regarding the current situation and we ask you respect the decision as it surely wasn’t an easy one to make.

Since our season is effectively over, it won’t impact us too much, however it may have an impact on our AGM scheduled for 8th April.

The Executive Committee is currently deliberating on whether or not the AGM should be held as planned. Given that we will not be having over 100, we should be ok. If you feel that you will need to self isolate, we can actually phone you in to be part of it.

The planned off-season activities such as Winterball and our internal Winter Academy will be reviewed. At this stage we will follow Baseball SA’s recommendation regarding Winterball which is being reviewed and no decision has been made as yet. Our internal Winter Academy should be OK as it is scheduled in July and hopefully the worst will be over by then. We will keep you informed.

The health and safety of our members is of our highest priority and we will constantly monitor the situation and keep you all informed. We asked that calm heads in this situation will prevail. Please be sensible and don’t panic or believe the hype about what is going on. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me and I will do my best to answer them.

Kind regards,

Darko Filko
President
